MAGAZINE AND POSTER : Fonts.

some examples of different fonts i downloaded which could work in really well with my projects. After handing out and asking 5o members of the public to complete a poll on which font they preferred the most and which would fit best with a horror film, the results show that the third from the top was most popular with the viewing public.
MAGAZINE : Film magazine names.
I have been thinking very hard about different ideas for the name of my magazine. When coming up with titles i had to keep in consideration the title was going to be on the front of a film magazine and should relate to the right audience. The title also has to be quite short and snappy, the public wouldn't look twice at a magazine with an extremely long title that takes up the whole front page.
Some of the names i came up with :
•Through the lens,
•Capture,
•DIGI,
•Shot,
•Creation,
•Create,
•Vision and
•Insight.
The two titles that stand out to me the most are Vision and Insight. Another idea i had was to have either vision or insight as the title and then underneath in a smaller font have through the lens almost as a trade mark slogan of vision or Insight magazine.

POSTER : My rough ideas for my teaser poster.
These were a few more teaser posters i have looked at after slightly changing my plot with a darker presence. Above were a few of my favourites as from the dark conventional colours you get the immediate fell that the film isn't about happiness and laughter but there is a darker side to the plot and this is what i want to portray in my poster. Each poster out of the four are all very simplistic when it comes to the information given away on the poster, apart from the film title and date or month of the release they don't show much else.Poster idea 3 :
Poster idea 4 :
From all the poster ideas i have drawn out in my personal opinion i think poster ideas 1 and 3 are my favourite. Poster one is a very strong and simplistic poster which will leave people asking a lot of questions. The focal point of the poster is half of a female characters face coming from the left hand side of the poster taking up almost half the page. Behind the female character is two blurred / blacked out featureless figures. After looking at example teaser posters i realised that the less information you put on the poster, the more interesting and mysterious it becomes. Leading on from this on my first poster idea i simply just included the title of the film, the season the film is released and a website if they want to find out more.
The reason why i like poster 3 is because of the mystery behind it, the focal image gives a small amount of insight into the story but not enough to give the story away. Also personally i beleve the composition in which the image on the poster is set out and the idea behind it is very creative. What i don't particularly like about poster 3 is the way i have set out the slogan at the top and the date of release, i think it looks a bit effortless and not really thought about.

TEASER TRAILER : Animatic on windows movie maker.
I created my animatic on Windows live movie maker. I had never properly used a software like this before so after downloading the program i watched a short tutorial online on how to take your story board and turn it into an animatic. It was quite tricky at first to get timings right and think about what different effects i could use on the slides to create / mimic what i want for my trailer.
Following the effect of the hand held camera i then want the female character to hand over the camera to the male character. While This is all happening i will either have just there voices in the mix playing to the camera (dieogetic sound) or simply just calm gentle music in the mix (non dieogetic sound).
Still using the viewing through the hand held camera, the camera will then be on the female character as she plays to and talks to her boyfriend through the camera. This is where i may give a slight clue to the viewers that there's a stalker involved by either showing a quick shot of him through the window for example.
TEASER TRAILER : Animatic...
This is my finished animatic. This will give me and and other viewers that view this a bit of an insight into my ideas for my film teaser trailer. Its very likely that as i am filming i will come up with new ideas in terms of filming, for example different camera angles or to add another clip in the trailer. An animatic is not only good helping the producer when it comes to filming but also to show progression when the trailer is finished and edited as you will see new ideas and thoughts put into the trailer that weren't intraregionally in the animatic.

MAGAZINE FRONT COVER : Film front cover analysis for two magazines...
The date of release, price and issue number of the magazine appear above the masthead and are discreetly positioned amongst the magazine’s name. The publishers of the magazines tuck them away like this in the smallest font so its the last thing the film loving audience will see and hopefully not be bothered by as their attention is captured by the main image, headline and cover lines and the price is the final piece of information which they have to search for but by now they are too interested in the contents of the magazine and willing to pay a higher price. Furthermore, as well as being put in small font so its the last thing the audience see its also presented like this because a smaller of less important information does not steal attention away from the main images or cover lines. The price, when compared to some on the cheaper market shows that the target audience can expect great quality and showing a great deal of interest in what the audience wants to see and read. The website of the magazine is included under the masthead. The website is featured not only so the audience can view more information about the magazine and it’s articles but also because potential readers new to the magazine can see that it is a specialized magazine as the mention of a website makes the magazine look more professional. The barcode is positioned in the bottom left corner in a vertical fashion so it does not obstruct or steal focus away from the main image. The barcode is often necessary for the sale of the magazine and therefore it is a requirement which shows authenticity.
Typically the focal main image is in the centre third of the page, This is because that is the image the magazine producers want the pub,lic to see as it is the main feature in the magazine. The masthead of these magazines stand out on the front of the page as it is a bold white font which does not get overlooked by the surrounding selling features.

The bold white TOTAL FILM is used with the same font and same size on every single one published so its easily recognised, as well as the vertical bar code to keep tucked away, with these two front covers in particular follow a white and yellow text on the cover and throughout the magazine.

corporate LOGO.

TEASER TRAILER : Corporate logos.
From the research i have done on film teaser trailers there were two things i had noticed are at the beginning of almost every one. The very first shot you see as the viewer is the shot with the green background saying : 'THE FOLLOWING PREVIEW HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR
APPROPRIATE AUDIENCES
BY THE MOTION PICTURE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA. INC.'
The very next shot you see immediately after this is the corporate logo for example :

The SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT logo, PIXAR, FOX, DREAMWORKS and many others.
So if my teaser trailer is going to be up at the professional level i will be needing a corporate logo and preview agreement myself.
These are some experimental corporate logo's i created with my own captured images then edited on photoshop. . .

TEASER TRAILER : possible titles....
These are a few ideas i have had for the name of my movie.....
Hide and Seek.
Love Dies.
Lust Lost.
Fonder Hearts.
Undisclosed Desires.
My favourite choice so far for my movie title is Undisclosed Desires.
But what does it mean?
- not made known,
- secret or hidden; not openly practiced or engaged in or shown or avowed.
This is the perfect name because my Film / Trailer is surrounded by love and a secret stalker which just sums up the word undisclosed.
I have done a lot of research into the name Undisclosed Desires and know that there isnt a film yet to date with this title.

TEASER TRAILER....
My Idea for my Film teaser has slightly changed, I'm still keeping to the Romance theme but i think im going to now have it as what i would call a slightly 'twisted' romance, not quite the norm or what you usually expect from a rom com. But why has it changed?, what has it changed to? My idea of creating a romance film has now developed to become a romance with an obsessed dark stalker. The initially thought that made me change my mind and the idea to become a little more dark was that Romances are usually targeted towards teen girls + and couples but adding a bit of eeriness and a touch of violence will also hopefully pull in the male audience, the advantage of this is there will be a wider range of interest in the movie and would pull in a bigger profit.
But what makes my idea on putting in a stalker more unique?
I have decided that if i am going to involve a stalker in my film it needs to have a edge, something different. Rather than have the obvious man stalking the vulnerable beautiful woman, i have come to the conclusion that i am going to have either a man stalking the Boyfriend in the couple relationship or have a woman stalking the girlfriend in the relationship.

Audience...
To keep my project (Film trailer, Magazine front cover and Teaser poster) in demand and interesting i need to make sure that i have secured my audience and keep them secured, and to keep themhooked and interested. But hod do i and have i done this? Over the time i have been given to complete my portfolio project ideas and interests can change, so every little change i make i will need to refer back to my target audience and the materials and conventions they expect from me and the products i finally produce for them.

keeping the recession in mind like idid and had to do for my AS work also, ideas like going to the cinema to watch a film thats newly out or buying a magazine when they could look online for free isn't the first thing on the audiences mind. So to change this mind set i need to present something different, inventive tell the audience somethinghas changedand show them exactly this. But on the other hand i have also recognised that because of the recession a new film may be a form of escape, to clear and empty there minds and worries for a bit.
Another factor i have considered is the manor in which i should be talking to my audience, whether thats like a professional and informational or like a friend or even the slightly cheeky friend. what exactly is my relationship with my target audience?
